Dear Parents:

We are really in the homestretch now! But we still have exciting things going on. If you are new to Laurel, you will be blown away on April 15th with the Art and Science Fair. This is landmark PTO event, that involves the entire school, and roughly 150 – 200 volunteers. It is truly amazing.

Please join us at our General PTO Meeting on Friday, April 23rd at 8:30am. You will meet the new Executive Board for 2010/2011 and get a chance to hear about the new building and facliities, and tour our new 3rd grade building!

Come to the Pancake Breakfast, at Encinal School, on Saturday May 8th! This is the best breakfast in town, and great way to wind up the year with friends and family at both Laurel and Encinal.

Then, get ready to pack a dinner-picnic and come hear your children sing at the Spring Fling on Friday May 21st. This is always so special to see the school together, singing with Mary Beckstrom, and sure to be a little teary saying “good-bye” to the 2nd graders going to Encinal next year!

Lastly, there will be two awards ceremonies: one at Laurel, for our very own School Service Awards (coffee, 9am on Thursday May 20th at Laurel, open to all volunteers) and two, a more formal ceremony at Oak Knoll School, Thursday May 27th, 4-6pm, for those who have won the Honorary Service Awards. (All of this will be publicized in the next month.)

See you at all these fun events! There is truly nothing like Laurel School!
