Rock the Foundation!

Dust off your blue suede shoes, grab your favorite groupie, and start practicing your air guitar because it's time to Rock the Foundation! On Saturday, April 25, 2009, we'll take over Redwood City's fabulous Fox Theatre for an old school rock 'n roll party, complete with live music, dancing, drinks, and backstage munchies. Watch your email this week for your invitation and more event details, including how you can help raise money for our schools through the silent auction, rock 'n roll raffle, and Fund-the-Gap. Or check out www.mpaef.org/springevent and "Let's Get This Party Started"!

2009-2010 Kindergarten Registration Begins Feb 2nd

Registration for Fall 2009 Kindergarten in the Menlo Park City School District begins February 2, 2009. Children who will be age 5 by December 2, 2009 are eligible for kindergarten registration. A birth certificate or other legal proof of age must be presented at the time of registration along with family proof of residence in the District (a deed, lease agreement, rental agreement, and P.G.& E. bill). In addition, proof of immunizations received is required at registration.

A mandatory Information Meeting for parents who are interested in learning more about the Kindergarten 2009 Spanish Immersion Program is scheduled for 7:00pm on January 29 at the District Office at 181 Encinal Avenue. This program is lottery based and enrollment will occur in the Spring.

Parents who register their Kindergarten students within the District Priority Registration Period between February 2 and February 27 will have priority for enrollment in the school in their attendance boundary; if applied for, will receive consideration for the Spanish Immersion Program to be offered at Encinal School; and, if applied for, will receive consideration for an intradistrict transfer to a school outside of their attendance boundary. Registration materials received after February 27th will be reviewed and accepted in the order received.

All incoming Kindergarten children must register at the school assigned to their attendance boundary. Laurel's Attendance Boundaries include residences in Flood Triangle, Willows, Menlo Oaks, Vintage Oaks, the portion of Lindenwood for residences accessed from Oak Grove and Ringwood and residences in southern part of Greenoaks Drive (MPCSD map), and all other areas south of Ringwood and east of Middlefield.
