Organizes and manages shuttle services between Encinal and Laurel
schools. Requires three people, one for each the Tinsley bus, Newton
and City shuttles.
Responsibilities of the ASIST Committee:
- Announce transportation opportunities to the community in both
Laurel and Encinal newsletters prior to the end of the school year
(May or June).
- Collect and manage district-required information on all student
riders including "Code of Conduct" forms.
- If demand exceeds capacity, conduct lottery to assign seats on available services.
- Coordinate with Menlo Park District Superintendent and Transportation coordinator, school principals, Sequoia Union High School District Bus Coordinator and City of Menlo Park transportation coordinator.
- Schedule parent volunteer assignments.
- Enable and ensure Sign Out procedure followed for the district bus riders.
Communicate with parents of riders as necessary if and when incidents occur (e.g. bullying)
- Requires 3 people with an acting Chairman, each to take lead with one transportation service (Tinsley, Newton, City Shuttle)
