Last Week of PTO Membership Drive - Presidents' Message

It's the last week of our PTO Membership Drive and here is a message from the Laurel and Encinal PTO presidents encouraging everyone to join !

Laurel Eco-Squirrels and Waste-Free Hot Lunches

Laurel PTO’s Environmental and Hot Lunch Committees are asking Laurel Squirrels and families to help us cut back on the two tons of waste we generate each week, the equivalent size of six horses, a car, or 500 million nuts.... The lunches can only be waste-free if they are properly disposed of in the brown compost bins that will be housed near both the first and second grade lunch arbors. See here for full information.

Help Hurricane Katrina Kids !

Looking for a way to help children affected by Katrina? Donate books,
backpacks, school supplies, toiletries or Target/Walmart gift cards to be
sent to Houston schools that are accepting students from hurricane ravaged
areas. Drop off donations from Sept 12-23. Click here for more details.
