Stranger Safety Workshop

The Laurel PTO is sponsoring a Stranger Safety Workshop to be held on Feb. 28th at 7 pm in the Laurel Multi. The evening will include discussion with the Atherton police about how to talk to our children about strangers, and to answer parent questions. We will also be viewing a video, The Safe Side video, created by John Walsh, host of America's Most Wanted, and Julie Clark, founder of the Baby Einstein videos. This event is for parents. However, the PTO will be providing childcare in the Laurel Library from 7pm-8:30pm.

We are lucky to live in a very safe environment, however, it is important to have these discussions with our children. Children at this age need to be reminded often. Their world is getting larger. The greater the range, the greater the likelihood he/she will encounter strangers. You can get further information regarding this at www.thesafeside.com. Please contact Traci Brinton, PTO_VicePresident (at) laurelpto (dot) org ,with questions, and to RSVP for childcare by Feb. 17th.
