Safety Notice - Kids' Art Night Lights

Original Works, the supplier of the Kids' Art Night Lights that many families ordered, has discovered that about two thirds of the night lights that shipped during Fall 2006 contained the incorrect wattage bulb. While this may not present an issue, it is possible that this difference in wattage could cause the bulb or plug to overheat or short out. As a safety precaution Original Works has asked that we instruct you to unplug the night light and check the bulb.

The correct bulb is a 5 watt bulb and will have the following imprint on the bottom of the bulb socket: 120V 5W. The incorrect bulb is a 7 watt bulb and will have 120V 7W printed on the upper edge of the bulb socket.

If you discover that you have a 7 watt bulb please discard the bulb and do not use the night light again until the correct bulb is installed. Original Works will be shipping replacement bulbs as soon as possible, and we will post another announcement when they arrive. However, you may also purchase your own 120V 5W replacement bulb and install it before using the night light again.

Please contact Sarah Wright at 328-3755 or Carol Kelly at 325-6702 if you have any questions.

Thank You - Holiday Toy Drive

A huge thank you to the wonderful Laurel and Encinal communities for their support of the Holiday Toy Drive. Thank you also to the cub scouts who baked cookies. We were able to bring holiday surprises to 109 children in 39 families. This could not happen without the outpouring of generosity from so many who brought toys, contributed money and helped to sort and deliver presents to families. Thank you all for sharing the holiday spirit!
