We are pleased to present you with this package of
information provided by many of the summer camps
in the area. We hope this will help you in your
summer planning. You will not find camp information
in the weekly newsletter - it's all here in this
Summer Camp
Extravaganza!
For camps that have not yet published their
schedules, we will run another "extravaganza" in
late March. If you have questions about the camps,

Kaleidoscope Summer School
Kaleidoscope Summer School is gearing up for a
summer of exploration, culinary creations, fitness
fun and more! Kaleidoscope is your location for
exploration, creativity and friends. The theme for
the K-2nd grades, Jr. Kaleidoscope, is Island
Exploration! Did you know that there are over 800
kinds of geckos? Come on our island exploration and
learn many more cool animal facts! Hillview School
in Menlo Park. Register early, as this unique
summer camp fills quickly!

Jim Heebner's Tennis Camp
Enjoy a fun summer camp for boys and girls. This
program will work on solid fundamentals, drills and
fun games. Great program for developing sports
skills and building confidence.
Ages: 6 to 10.9

Art in Action
Get creative in “ARTful Animals ARTcamp!” Explore
animals in art through famous masterpieces and
create projects including 3-D animal sculptures,
wearable art, sea-life printing, clay bugs, group
mural, outdoor games and more! Design a sketchbook
and portfolio. Bring a snack and get messy having
fun. An Art in Action t-shirt is provided.
Entering K-1- “Claws Paws and Jaws”
2nd-3rd grade- “Fins Furs and Feathers"
4th-5th grade- “Rainforest Renegades”

United Studios of Self Defense Karate Summer Camp
We would like to invite you to our Karate Summer
Camp Program. Beginners are welcome. You will learn
shaolin animal forms, self defense techniques, 5
animal kempos (Tiger, Leopard, Dragon, Crane,
Snake), shaolin broadsword and play fun games. Self
Defense is FUN!
Ages: 5-15

SOLO Aquatics
SOLO Aquatics Summer Day Camp teaches fundamentals
of swimming and water polo with lots of fun. No
previous swimming or water polo experience
necessary; instruction given at the appropriate
level. Daily: morning & afternoon pool sessions;
clinical videos; chalk talk (instructional
diagrams); and individual film & analysis of stroke
techniques. Lunch provided.
Ages: 5 through 12

Atherton Lacrosse Camp
Try Lacrosse! A new Lacrosse program offers
beginners a chance to learn the hottest new sport in
West Coast schools. Come out to the park to learn
to play this fantastic sport (Sports Illustrated
calls it the “fastest growing sport in the U.S.”)
and have fun with new friends! No prior experience
is necessary, we offer equipment rental as well.
Grades: K-8

Spring Down Equestrian Center Summer Horsemanship Camp
Love Horses? Come ride and learn about horses at
Spring Down Equestrian center's horsemanship camps!
Our complete program groups riders according to
experience, but no experience is needed to play. We
teach riding, horsemanship, and horse care under the
care of our knowledgeable instructors and helpers in
small, interactive groups. Also enjoy horsie crafts,
games and friendship.
Minimum age: 6 years

Jeff Arons' Youth Tennis Camps
Jeff Arons is the director of tennis for Sacred
Heart Schools. His coaching experiences include
founding/directing the East Palo Alto Tennis and
Tutoring Program (EPATT) and coaching a Wimbledon
doubles champion. His camps offer the beginning to
advanced level player the opportunity to develop
their skills in a child friendly and fun environment.

Alan Margot’s Champion Tennis Camps
Alan Margot is the director of tennis for the
Atherton Tennis Center. He has taught and coached
tennis in the Bay Area for over 25 years, and has
worked with sectional and nationally ranked juniors
as well as touring professionals. The programs
provide an enjoyable way for your child to begin
learning the game of tennis or to continue
developing existing skills. Our approach is to
create lots of fun with positive feedback and
reinforcement in a nurturing tennis environment!

Glenoaks Equestrian Center Riding Camp
Glenoaks Equestrian Center has run a very popular
summer riding camp for the past 7 years to students
of all levels. Each day students will have
continuous supervision by our experienced coaches.
Activities include; Riding and pony games, Basic
Horsemanship Training, Equestrian Gymnastics and
time for Arts, Crafts and other activities.

International School of the Peninsula Language Immersion Camp
Our Summer Camp 2007 is proposed either in French,
Chinese, Spanish or ESL. Students are grouped
according to both grade level and language
proficiency. During each session, students
participate in morning language classes and
afternoon activities (art, sports and games). Field
trips and guest speakers are planned to enrich each
themed session. A wonderful opportunity for your
child to discover or improve a second language in an
interactive and dynamic way!

Stanford Soccer Academy
Stanford Soccer camps are designed to help our
youngest players learn and improve their basic
soccer skills and techniques through age appropriate
training and enjoyable games. The emphasis of the
camp is on FUN. The camp is directed by Laurel
parent and Stanford University soccer coach Bret
Simon.

Dance Connection offers a variety of dance camps,
workshops, and dance intensives for different ages
and skill levels. Some camps include: Prince and

Ohlones depended on plants and animals to survive.
Discover the diverse plants and animals that live in
our forests. Explore a coastal redwood forest,
examine tidepool creatures, and discover the animals
that call this area their home.
