Holiday Toy Drive
Laurel and Encinal families need your help to make their holiday season a little happier. The Caring and Sharing Holiday Toy Drive runs December 3 through December 14. We will be collecting new toys for children of all ages, gift wrap, gift cards, checks, and we can even accept credit card donations.

Check out our NEW Toy Drive Wishlist so you can select gifts our kids really want! You can even "adopt" an entire family!

Wishes for each child in each family are grouped together, so you can easily find the wishes for the entire family. Once you've decided which gifts to buy, be sure to check the "Purchased" box so that other parents will know you've committed to buying the gifts. Do NOT have gifts mailed to the recipient families -- bring them to Laurel or Encinal.  If you have any questions about the online wish list, please contact Rebecca Wang, rebs1(at)aol.com or  888-8085.

Bring unwrapped gifts to the bins in front of Laurel or Encinal.  Drop off checks and gift cards in the school office.  Toy Drive Contact: Joanne Andrew, 324-0554 or joandrew13(at)sbcglobal.net.

Retirement Celebration for Pam Bonino
Our beloved Pam Bonino is retiring December 31!  We are so sad to see her leave and want to help her celebrate her many, many years of service in Menlo Park.  The Laurel PTO will host a gathering for this special lady. Parents and any others who adore Pam are invited to come honor her and enjoy dessert right after the Staff Appreciation Luncheon:
  • Friday, December 7
  • 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
  • Multi-Purpose Room
Children are encouraged to make cards telling Mrs. Bonino what they love about her and why she will be missed - please bring these cards to the dessert. Please RSVP to Gina Watkins, Laurel PTO President, at pto_president(at)laurelpto.org, so we know how many people to expect.
Winter Sing DVD
All Winter Sing performances will be recorded and produced on the annual Winter Sing DVD - pre-order yours today!  Forms are available in the office or at the link below.  All proceeds benefit the PTO and DVDs will be distributed in early January.

Volunteers are needed to help tape the events.  Please contact Ken Wang, ken(at)wangfamily.com, if you'd like to help out or have camera equipment to lend.

Bake and Gift Sale Help Needed
The Winter Sing Bake and Gift Sale is Friday, December 14, from 7:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m. We ask that each parent help for a one hour shift during the day (of course we'd love if you could stay longer). Younger siblings are welcome to come - we will show a video to keep them busy while you're helping. Please sign up for a one-hour shift (starting on the half hour) by sending an email to nolascofamilyschoolstuff(at)yahoo.com.  Please check the schedule in the "Upcoming Events" section of this newsletter to make sure you pick a shift that does not conflict with your child's performance time.

We can't make this happen without YOU! Remember to bake goodies or donate a handmade gift
to be sold at this great fundraiser. Contact: Cyndi Nolasco, 321-2093 or nolascofamilyschoolstuff(at)yahoo.com.

Bake Sale Gift Certificates
$5 and $10 certificates may be ordered in advance and redeemed at the Winter Sing Bake Sales.  Please use the attached order form, or look for the one in your child's backpack.  Orders filled within two days.
