Car Burglaries on Ringwood
|
Please avoid leaving your purse or other valuables in your car when parked at Laurel School.
We have had at least three recent burglaries on Ringwood in which a car window was broken and personal property was taken. We suspect these incidents are not the work of local high school students. In one instance, a parent (who is a San Francisco Police Officer) observed a man break a car window, remove a purse, then jump into a waiting car to be driven away by a second man. No arrests have yet been made.
Make sure you bring all valuables with you and lock your car when you park at the school, especially along Ringwood.
|
Drop-Off Congestion
|
To ease morning drop-off traffic problems, please consider turning Right on Edge Road out of the Laurel driveway and taking Oak Grove to Toyon or Middlefield. We have been having gridlock problems with cars unable to get in or out of the driveway due to backups on Edge. You will probably get where you're going faster if you turn right than if you wait in the line on Edge to turn on Ringwood.
Also, traffic will move more smoothly into the driveway if you take available curbside spaces toward the front of the line rather than waiting for a spaces near the the parking lot end.
|
Ringwood Gate - No Parking
|
No parents should park inside or in front of the fire gate off of Ringwood. No parents should ask their children to meet them inside the Ringwood gate. We continue to have problems with cars blocking this staff-only area.

| Award Nominations for HSA/SSA |
Every year our district is lucky enough to
have parents, teachers, staff, and community
volunteers give of their time, skills, and
creativity to our schools. The Honorary
Service Awards (HSAs) and the
School Service Awards (SSAs) are our way of
recognizing those individuals who have
contributed in an extraordinary way to our
school district.
The HSA Nominating Committee relies heavily
on nominations from parents, teachers, and
staff to determine who should receive these
awards. Please submit your nominations by Friday, April 11, to the
Laurel School Office. Either print out and
drop off the form or send your nomination(s)
via email to Gina Watkins at PTO_President@laurelpto.org.
