No More Kid Chow Lunch
The last day of Kid Chow was yesterday.  Please remember to pack a lunch for your child every day for the rest of school.
Box Tops For Field Trips
Tuesday, June 3 is the deadline for the Spring Box Tops for Field Trips Drive.  This is the last drive of the year and we're only 1,000 shy of our 15,000 goal!  Remember to turn those Box Tops in to class, so we can go out with a bang!  Our kids deserve a big pat on the back this year - they have done an AMAZING job collecting and counting their Box Tops and completing their own tally forms.  Click here if you need a new tally form and feel free to submit the Box Tops using any baggie or envelope that's convenient.

Thanks to all of the families for supporting the Box Tops program this year.  So many of the class fieldtrips were made possible by you.  We'll be running the program again next year at both Laurel and Encinal, so keep collecting this summer!

Laurel PTO Reimbursement
Volunteers do so much to make Laurel great! Many of us have expenses associated with that work, too.  If you have a reimbursable expense from this school year for a Laurel PTO event or project that you haven't yet been reimbursed for, please turn in your pink "PTO Reimbursement Request Form" with receipts attached to the Treasurer File in the Community Room at Laurel before June 11.

If you aren't sure whether your expense is reimbursable or have other questions, contact your committee chair or PTO Treasurer Katie Ferrick at PTO_treasurer(at)laurelpto.org.
If you would like to view and print this form right now, click here.

Laurel PTO Volunteers Needed
We need several dynamic people to chair PTO committees next year.  If you are interested in leading one of our great teams or if you enjoy putting together fun events, please consider volunteering for one of these positions.  Co-chairs are welcome - any of these jobs can be shared, so enlist a friend to join you!
  • Caring & Sharing (Ongoing)  Help teach our children the importance of caring about and sharing with those in need.  We need one or two Laurel representatives to co-chair this committee with their Encinal counterparts.  Chairs will organize various drives throughout the year to collect and distribute items for families in need (holiday food boxes, school supplies, etc.)
  • Holiday Boutique (Fall/Winter)  This important fundraiser is held every year on the same day as the Winter Sing.  Baked goods, plants and other donated items are sold, with 100% of proceeds going to the PTO.  We need two co-chairs to lead the committee.
  • Carpool Coordinator
  • PTO Office Support Provide occasional support for the school office.  One or two co-chairs needed.
  • Drop-off Patrol Organize volunteers to monitor morning curbside drop-off.
  • Disaster Prep
Contact Leslie Burke, PTO President for 2008-2009, at PTO_VicePresident(at)laurelpto.org, with any questions or nominations as soon as possible.
