Why Donate to the Foundation?
Did you know that California ranks 29th in state spending per student? However, with the help of the Foundation and parcel taxes, our school district's spending would rank 11th, and is just behind our neighbors. For over 25 years, the Foundation has raised money to bridge the gap between what our schools need to maintain the high quality education we expect and our children deserve. Our committed parents and community members raise funds our schools can count on. Can we count on you? Donations can be made online at www.mpaef.org, mailed to P.O. Box 584, Menlo Park, CA 94026, or dropped off on Donation Day, Friday, November 14th.

District Funding 101:  A Community Education Night
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 12th, when the Foundation will present District Funding 101: A Community Education Night. The event will be at the Hillview School Library, 6:30-8:00pm. To start, we'll watch an excerpt of From First to Worst, a documentary that details the history of California public school funding. A lively discussion and Q&A with Ken Ranella, school board members, and other parents will follow. Babysitting will be provided for K-5 graders. RSVP for babysitting at 325-0100 or foundationoffice(at)mpaef.org.

MPAEF Monday Night Football is November 10th!
The 4th Annual Monday Night Football Party for Dads will be held on Monday, November 10th.  Come and watch our San Francisco Forty-Niners hopefully destroy the Arizona Cardinals! We will, once again, be entertained at Jim Carruthers' home in Atherton, complete with fantastic theater-style viewing. Festivities will begin at 5:30pm and we'll have the usuals: great food, great drink, some fun raffles, and "man to man, dad talk." Admission is FREE, the only cost that you'll incur will be cheering for the Cardinals!  For early reservations, please email foundationoffice(at)mpaef.org or call 325-0100.

Vision and Hearing Screening
