Monday, November 10, 2008 to Friday, Nov 21, 2008
The Laurel/Encinal Caring & Sharing Thanksgiving Food Drive will benefit families in need within our community by providing them with a gift card to a local grocery store so they may enjoy a happy and bountiful Thanksgiving holiday. We will also be collecting non-perishable, canned food items to be donated to local food banks that desperately need our support.
How to donate:
- Gift cards in any amount from Safeway or Trader Joes.
- You may donate via cash, check or credit card. Make your check payable to Encinal School PTO and reference the "Thanksgiving Food Drive". For credit card donations, please click here.

Starting November 10, 2008 you may place your non-perishable donations in the "GIVING BOXES" that will be located in the front of Laurel's and Encinal's School Offices.

| MPAEF News |
Thank you to everyone who gave to the Foundation on our third annual Donation Day! We couldn't give our schools and kids the support they need without generous families like you. We also extend a huge thank you to all the classroom ambassadors and volunteers who helped make the day a success. If you didn't make your gift, it's never too late at www.mpaef.org. Our schools count on us, and we count on you. |
New Laurel Library "Take One, Leave One" Book Swap Program
|
Gail Bradley has started a new book swap program "Take One, Leave One Box" at the Laurel library. Students may choose a book from a box of used books and return it anytime. If the student chooses, s/he may keep the book and replace it with a used book from home. This program is perfect for those students who cannot check out due to having an overdue book and they do not leave the library empty-handed.
If you have any used books at home that are suitable for grades K-2 and wish to donate them to the "Take One, Leave One" box, please let Gail Bradley know at gbradley( at )mpcsd.org. Thank you! |
