| MPAEF News |
MPAEF Campaign Progresses Slowly Donation Day was a great start for the Foundation, but there is
work to be done. We sincerely thank the 600 families who have generously
donated $979,737 to the Annual Campaign so far. Last year at this time,
680 families had donated $1.2 million, so our current pace is 16% behind
where we need to be. Our schools and our students are still
counting on every family to make a gift before the end of 2008. We know
these are challenging times but together we can stay strong and continue
supporting the excellent education we expect for our children.
New Way to Give Monthly
Want an easy new way to give? Make an automatic payment every
month by using our monthly charge option. It's simple to start and you can
set the amount and the number of months to fit your budget. If you need
help getting it set up, contact the Foundation Office at 325-0100. Now we
need you more than ever to help bridge the gap in public school
funding.

| Caring and Sharing Holiday Gift Drive |
The Caring and Sharing Holiday gift drive has started! Laurel families can help provide gifts for other
families in our school community through online donations, cash or check contributions (which should be made payable
to Laurel PTO and can be delivered to the school office) or by adopting
a family and shopping for their needs.
Stop by the office today to pick up a wish tag (or more!) from the
"Giving Tree"! If you can't make it into the office, you can also view
the Toy Drive Wishlist online.
Be sure to click the box "Purchased" to show that you've committed to
buying that child's gift(s). Do NOT use the Amazon feature to buy and
mail the gift.
Drop off all gifts and wrapping paper in the toy drive bins at the front of the school by Friday, December 12, 2008.
Questions, please
contact Peckie Peters, Caring and Sharing Committee at 321-2423 or peckye@comcast.net.

Holiday Trees & Wreaths
It's that time of year and once again Honey Bear Trees
on Woodside Road in Redwood City has generously offered to donate 15%
of all Holiday Tree and Wreath sales to the Laurel and Encinal PTOs.
Their trees really are fresh and beautiful, so if you haven't been
there before it's worth a stop. To ensure the school gets credit,
bring your flyer with you or ask for one at checkout. Happy Holidays!
