There is still time to cast your vote for Measure C. The elections office is now only accepting drop off ballots, so please drop it off at Menlo Park City Hall or Atherton City Offices during business hours on or before May 4th.

Take a break from cooking and attend the 5th Annual Laurel/Encinal Pancake Breakfast! The entire family will enjoy lip-smacking pancakes, bacon/sausage, delicious fruit, and hot/cold beverages -- all prepared by volunteers. To register and pay by credit card, please click here. Be sure to include all the names of your party in the Name fields. Please bring your printed confirmation page to the breakfast as your receipt. Cash payment at the breakfast will also be accepted.

| Attention 2nd Graders!! |
 Be a part of History...Order your Laurel/Encinal Class of 2010 T-shirt!! This one of a kind t-shirt commemorates the last 2nd grade graduating class at Laurel. A tie-dye t-shirt with a perfect mix of blue and green for the 2010 class. The front of the shirt features the "class of 2010" with a Laurel and Encinal combination. The back displays the name of each child in the 2nd grade class, leaving a perfect mark in history. Many children will want to wear this shirt at Spring Fling.
We have a new system so you can order ONLINE. Order forms are also available in the front office. Orders must be completed by Monday, May 10th. Live Better, Drive Less!
It's not too late to turn your Earth Day resolution into action by taking the Drive Less Challenge to practice alternatives to solo car trips to work, school or other local destinations. From April 22 to May 5, students and their families can log their "green" miles to track their progress, share with friends, and compete for prizes from local shops. Save the Date for the 5th Annual M-A BIG BEAR RUN
Join us this Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 9 a.m.! The M-A Big Bear run is more than a 5k race starting at M-A High School and weaving its way through Lindenwood - it is a fun-filled, community event and the core fundraiser for M-A athletics. Last year, the Big Bear Run raised over 75% of the funds needed to operate M-A's sports program which serves over 900 committed student-athletes and over 50 sports teams. This is a great way to get to know your local high school. If you would like to get your name on the popular Big Bear Run t-shirts or sponsor this event, contact MicheleCulhane at michculhane@pacbell.net by March 25th. Region 109 AYSO Fall 2010 Registration!Menlo Park Atherton registers 1600 players each fall in this all volunteer community soccer organization. Walk-in registration for the 2010 season will be held at Hillview Middle School library on Saturday, May 8 and Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 9 am - 1 pm when you can deliver your completed forms and payments. Starting May 1, 2010 you can go online to prepare forms and signup early for volunteer jobs which are offered on a first come, first served basis. If you are returning as coach, assistant coach, or referee this year you can complete this process in advance by mail. For more information refer to the FAQ at www.mpsoccer.org
Understanding Your Child's Temperament
Tuesday, May 18, 7-9 p.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1095 Cloud Ave., Menlo Park. Temperaments are inborn, not something we can teach or instill. In this workshop, we will provide information that can help you gain a better understanding about your child's temperament and we will discuss strategies for dealing with different types of temperament. New AYSO VIP League! The AYSO Very Important Players (VIP) Program provides a quality soccer experience for children and adults whose physical or mental differences make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams. VIP teams may include: Blind or visually impaired, Mobility impaired, Mentally or emotionally challenged, Autistic, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and more. Menlo Park wants to implement this national program in our area. Palo Alto has been successful and supports dozens of players year round. For more information, please click here. Menlo-Athergon Viking Pop Warner Football
The Menlo-Atherton Viking Pop Warner football program, for boys and girls, ages 5-15, is now open for registration. In addition to football, we will be adding two non-competitive cheer teams, serving ages 5-9. Information about fees, scholarships, and the registration process can be found at www.mapopwarner.com. Teams fill up quickly so be sure to register soon! An early registration discount of $50 is offered before June 15th. Practice for both leagues will start Aug. 1. Camp Menlo: Making Summer Magic!
Spend the summer splashing with friends at the Burgess Pools in Menlo Park. Week-long day camps offer swimming, water games, field games, and crafts for ages 5-12. Skill-appropriate activities, confidence-building, and fun. Expert, caring instruction for swimmers of all levels. Mornings 8:45am - 2:00pm and/or afternoons 2:00pm - 6:00pm.
